"My art is a reflection of the incredible beauty that I see everywhere. I capture texture, light, shadow, color, reflection, and contrast in my photos . I compose the discrete elements in ways that are less reflective of their individuality and more indicative of the ways in which everything is interconnected. That connection may be one of contrast or similarity but each element requires the other for its’ strength.
I draw on my background as a carpenter and cabinetmaker as well as my Tai Chi practice in photography work. I try to minimize my rational mind and promote a strong connection between my eyes, my core and my hands as I compose each picture.
Currently I am pursuing ways in which I can capture elements of people’s lives through abstract images."
